This is a surprisingly adept interpretation of the dynamic between these two characters. Given the change in circumstances; Kagome's family being dead and leaving her nowhere to run away to, Inuyasha being accustomed to a modern setting and the social intricacies that come with it, the reversal of power between the two characters (the mark vs. the necklace), and the lack of the jewel shards as a convenient explanation for their continued association.
With all of that at play here, the interactions between Inuyasha and Kagome remain reminiscent of the show. In so far as when reading the dialogue, I 'hear' it in their voices. The fumbling nature of two people who aren't comfortable with romance (for different reasons), Inuyasha's constant underlying superiority complex, Kagome repeatedly struggling with feelings of jealousy, and the strangely deep level of concern they have for one another despite not having any formative experiences for those emotions to be founded on; It all feels very akin to the weird 'reincarnated soul mate" thing the original show constantly tried to go for.

That said, the rest of the characters shown have been a complete shit-show. Koga stopped gunning for Kagome because Inuyasha 'marked' her. If he was the Koga from the show, that would have just made him double-down. Hojo was either too forward, or blatantly too naive. Sure, he was gullible and persistent, but he wasn't stupid and he respected Kagome's boundaries. Then there's Naruku, who's leaning too hard into the 'pure evil' role. In the show, it was appropriate. In this, it just makes him come across as sleazy and an asshole.
Kagura was pretty accurate, though. I mean, she was in one page and I'm only guessing that was her.

I can only hope that when (if) the supporting cast shows up, their personalities will be better adapted to the new genre.
