Edit: fixed the tense as it distorted the meaning of my post. I was jokingly pointing out how moronic gender bending doujins/mangas tend to be, in the way that they vainly try to justify the transformation with always the same lame excuses. @meow_pao I'm well aware of e-hentai's weird stance on it, but it's mind boggling to define it that way. If a guy/girl gets changed into a girl/guy body, they're now a different sex and it makes no sense to not tag that as gender bender.

It makes even less sense when you consider that the possession tag DOES permit it, even though it's effectively 1/2 of a body swap with extra steps and also doesn't usually include the character's original body physically changing.

Regardless, male/female body swap always gets tagged gender bender anyway, because lots of readers consider it valid gender bender. And if a definition of a fictional story trope is disagreed upon by that many people, there's no good reason to stick with that definition anymore.
