This was done using machine translation, so I apologize if there's some mistakes. I really like this author's works, but they usually don't get translated and I figured a machine translation is better than nothing.

The names were given in katakana (a Japanese alphabet for foreign words), and there's a lot of leeway into how someone might want to pronounce them.

I appreciate the sentiment and effort here, but from what I've seen in the past, a machine TL causes way more harm than good. When something receives a translation, it is drastically less likely to get another one, even if the translation is terrible. Conversely, untranslated works have a much higher chance to get a good TL one day, especially if they're less than a year or two old. This is especially true in this age of crowdsourced translations (example: /uploader/Bfodler).

There's more works being written than there are translators to translate them all. This one was over a year old, and unlikely to get translated. If anyone would have done it, this author has plenty of other works to translate. And there's plenty of other stuff by other good authors. They'll still translate. This work is an additional translation we'll get. Not one that's instead of one we would have had.

As long as you just use the machine translation as a starting point you can get good results.
