if you're going to pirate a doujin that's for sale and can be bought by westerners, I think it might be better to wait until the sales die down. That way you can post it without doing as much harm as if you post it the day that it releases. Usually that's a few weeks to a month

Hope people realize that uploading this stuff here really hurts the artist. Especially a few days after it's released. The comics are honestly very cheap and by just pirating them and uploading them here so soon you increase the chance that the artist will slow down or even stop working on these comics. And I don't think anyone that likes these comics wants that to happen.

I'd propose a grace-period of maybe 3-6 months. Then we could just lag behind by those 3-6 months, essentially making the upload rate the exact same as if we were doing it as early as possible.
Of course, not everyone would think that rationally. It'd require large scale cooperation and understanding between at least a third of the users on this site, which won't ever happen unless it's implemented as a strongly enforced rule, maybe to the extend of a ban as punishment, so galleries added too early would be found by the community and expunged.

Also "Lawless" sites like Hitami really don't care at all. They have numerous duplicates and everything. Even if they didn't appear here, they'd just appear there. I don't think it has any form of user moderation, or even any moderation.
(Hitami is meant to have an O, not an A, but it gets censored)

Banning people for uploading too early is a dumb ass thing though imo, call me cruel but e-hentai is not some altruistic site.
Its a piracy and aggregation site. What you described would be best done as an unofficial courtesy (that gains traction and encouragement maybe) which is the best way to go about it.
Making official rules *against* uploading would just cause problems and dissuades contributing in general.
I already have 2 galleries with over 500 and 800 images respectively that got expunged due to me not knowing such dumbass rules like "you can't update a gallery more than twice a month" or "you can't have doujin pages from an already existing gallery within your gallery", and since then I haven't bothered to fix or update them because it just soured me completely
and I just uploaded a lot less in general since then, even though I had *many* images and entire artists galleries saved that I could've uploaded here that weren't already.
So from a personal viewpoint and one I consider a reasonable and objective one, I would advise (and even oppose) against such rules like that ever being made into policy here.
