I want to believe that is a joke about the relationship between Zelda & Link being ambigious/nonexistant + the whole "Zelda sacrificed herself *sorta* to save Minda" + humans becoming "ghosts" while inside the Twilight World.

Different situation. One is a what-if story about something that could happen, the other is using established characters and then completely ignoring their backstory, removing the point of using them in the first place.

I think this is the first time I've ever seen imp Midna drawn without her helmet(?). Actually seeing her as a sexually aggressive ginger shortstack makes her 3x more appealing than she already is somehow.
