One of the longest running anthologies in US comic industry and the longest running furry related one to my knowledge, Furrlough was created as a specialized magazine for military tales told through the aesopian prism of furry concept, with oversized debut issue seeing light of the day at month of November, year of 1991, and published monthly from 1993 to 2008 - which allowed it to prevail over the more sex-oriented Genus in terms of issues printed due to more sparse and relaxed printing table of the latter.
Initially purely military stories oriented, Furrlough shifted to "adventure (military included)" themed anthology in gradual drift, which was facilitated and officially institutionalized by the publisher change.

Speaking of which, the month of March, year of 1997, saw the issue №51 printed - last of the Furrlough issues to bear the Antarctic Press logo on it due to AP dropping most if not all furry titles in misbegotten attempt to become next DC/Marvel (or, at least, next Image/Dark Horse) by focusing publishing efforts on such wonderful titles like Ninja High School and Warrior Nun Areala, created by non other than godsdamned founder of the Antarctic Press (talk about vanity publishing...), one Ben Dunn, whom you may be acquainted with from Marvel Mangaverse and one of the more popular "How to draw random bullshite" series of artbooks, already present on EH and available to be seen through the link provided above.

Next issue - issue №52 - was printed without a hitch or delay in the month of April, year of 1997, through freshly formed Radio Comix which initially served as safe harbour for all the titles discarded by AP before launching off as a quite successful independent venture of its own. Needless to say, a new broom sweeps clean, and so Furrlough officially finalized transition from its military roots to adventure thematic among the numerous less significant changes.

Some nudity may be present, but in strict non-erotic sense since this anthology always tried to stay PG/PG-13, cause, y'now, brutally murdering each other is a-ok, but ZE BOOB is an instrument of ZE SOTON, or sumfin'.
In other words - The Gun is good! The Penis is evil!
Truly, never a finer motto to live by.
