This is my first time so please let me know what you think about it and feel free to share some advice or give out some ideas, that would be appreciated.

Just the non-existant contrast of the text over the background makes this impossible to read at times. At the very least far from enjoyable.

My tip: Give the text a sort of outline or shadow.

Edit: extreme examples for this: Page 60 and 65. I couldn't even tell there WAS any text on there on first sight and reading those was a chore.
