It's really irritating that you get all this wonderful story buildup... and then have the sex scenes only last like 4 panels long. With this art style, you could go great lengths in making intimate and passionate sex scenes, but instead this gunk-for-brains made Korra into a "one pump chump."

Either Asami is just that good or Korra might be a bit of a quick shot. At least that is my theory as to why the sex scenes are so short.

Not exactly true. They wanted to do a kiss but didn't think they would get away with it, so they just had them hold hands in the storyboard. When Nick approved the creators didn't even try to see if they could go further. So its actually unknown whether Nick would have approved or disapproved a kiss.
