If this goes anything like the original, then yeah she's going to not have things go her way in the end Chroomsh. She's going to turn the other girl into one too, things go well for a bit, then they stab her in the heart and brain and turn her corpse into a third one.

If you all want to be technical, he was dead the moment his body was assimilated into Mercury. By the definition, he had no more signs of life.

His identity remained alive, but an identity does not give life. His identity was not killed per se, but his emotions and compliance was overwritten. You can see that he is still in there. He wishes he can feel emotions for killing Wade, but he cannot. He is still there technically, so it's not complete identity death. It's like a mix of corruption and hypnosis. He cannot resist orders, but that doesn't mean he -wants- to follow them. He has no choice per the directives.

That's all splitting hairs with technicalities and such, but either way, the person on the outside is not the same as the other person so it's perceived as death in every sense.
