imagine taking the high ground being pro-MTL when a) they didn't buy/scan the doujin themselves and b) they took a raw and spit out a shit MTL without even translating everything on the first page of the actual story (ねぇ、先生 → Hey, Sensei...surely MTL would've gotten this right) and other pages in 30 minutes without giving a chance to human TLs in the first place.

There is currently no other English TL of this doujin. Either make a better one or fuck off and seethe somewhere else.
Meanwhile I will continue to read MTLs when there is no other English option available and there's nothing you can do about it.

In fact, it does affect everyone: It greatly reduces the chances of that work ever getting a proper translation...

As for the "there is currently no other English TL", yep, I'll agree with that. After all, it's pretty difficult (read: "impossible") for a human to beat AI in term of speed (30 minutes after the raw were uploaded on E-H).

Also, considering that you seem to enjoy MTL, I can give you an advice. You see... You can simply install a simple plug-in on your browser in order to quickly translate the raw if you want. ANYONE can do it.
Even I have one of those plug-in. I mostly use it in order to get a quick translation that I'll keep for myself and completely discard after reading it, and to extract the text from the raw.
Now the question is, if you love MTL so much, why are you not using a plug-in like this?

OCR MTL tools exist, like Revan said.

Someone _publishing_ any poor quality translation, MTL or not, to a publicly accessible index like E-H historically has been detrimental. The barrier to entry to reading is a lot less than the barrier to pushing out a readable translation, but the lack of _any_ translation can serve as a huge motivator for someone capable to submit their own. Remove that and you need to hope that there's some other motivator out there that'll get someone to submit a better translation (haha glwt).

It affects my archive if no one ever releases an archivable translation because this exists in a location where people generally look for translations.

Why do people post MTLs? Probably to game the E-H system for points. This dude didn't even put in any effort into keeping text within dialogue bubbles so clearly they're not going for a presentable release.
