I know there's already been a translation uploaded. I had started on this one beforehand and decided to finish it anyways.

I like this translation better, actually. The differences are slight but the way the dialogue reads in this one is a little hotter, so thank you for completing it and uploading!

This is why any tl who doesnt know the language he is translating TO, not just FROM, need`s eighter to know both on a good level, or hire a Quality Control. Still, it`s shocking to me how close that previous TL was, lol.

Man, this takes "If the product is free, you are the product." to a whole new level.

Very few translation out in your history, I'm a bit wary, is it MTL ?

edit : so asking question about legitimacy is getting yourself downvoted these days ? No wonder this place is filled with MTL.

The dialogue flows better than the previous translation, no doubt about it. However If you read the story of "Restaurant of many orders" you know the cat lady's dialogue is supposed to be stilted, it's filled with double entendres. That's why someone tagged your work as "rough translation", even though it flows better. You're missing a good chunk of the context.

I recommend just googling "Restaurant of many orders story" right now and read or watch it immediately It's a very short story. And the animated versions are about 20 minutes as well. After this sentence I am going to spoil it assuming one has read it, okay?

"Restaurant of many orders" twist has almost the same twist as "How To Serve Man" story/twilight episode; they're eating the guests. In our case fucking the guests. So one will realize "Restaurant of many orders" does not mean [being overbooked] but rather [giving a lot of instructions to it's guests]. So that's why your first mistake is the title, "Overbooked Femboy Brothel" which should really just be "Femboy Brothel of Many Orders" even though that's cludgy as shit, especially because you fell for the bait of the title itself.

With that in mind when she says "Our establishment has many orders specialized in Otokonoko and Newhalfs" it's a clear parallel to 3rd gold text line from the from the original story which is something along of "we hope that you will appreciate that this is a restaurant of many orders." . The receptionist fills the role of the gold text instructions throughout the original short story (I just realized that's probably why she also has golden eyes as well.)

So from just that line alone it's clear our catlady receptionist has to speak in a half truth con man way, hence the stilted dialogue. To make it more obvious she really means "We give out specialized orders to make femboys and shemales", while giving plausible deniability that she means "the brothel is overbooked" which our MC assumes. I could go on line by line to explain each double entendre and reference but I hope you understand my point.

There might be a way to workshop the receptionist dialogue to be less stilted but still filled with half truths as well, but this version doesn't do that.

That's why I told the previous guy to translate Yamaneko to Wildcat which I appreciate it you kept it in. I am assuming reason why it wasn't in english like the original story in the first place was probably katou jun wanted to make the twist less obvious, but no here knows the twist in the first place because they don't know the original story it's parodying it so might as well be translated.

I really like the tone of this work. Even if it wasn't what the guy expected, he was into it from start to finish. None of that drawn-out hand-wringing, "oh but he's actually a slut on the inside," just a guy who enjoys getting plowed.

Since there’s discussion on the accuracy and faithfulness of both translations, as someone who only speaks English I can’t help but notice that both this and the previous version translate the boy on page 6 as curious about which “girl” he will get. On page 1 he’s already excited that the brothel is femboys/otokonoko and shemales only, with the boy additionally saying something later about the shemale being “not a girl.” So it seems clear he understands the place is all males, so why is he wondering about which “girl” they send him?

My assumption is that “girl” is just the closest translation for a term and/or context Japanese has to refer to prostitutes working in a brothel, but if that is a thing, does it still apply to prostitutes that are guys? I thought there might be an implication or nuance in the Japanese text that while he’s thinking about his “girl” (in the sense of which prostitute they’ll match him up with), that he really means his “(male)girl” similar to how in English you might spell it “gurl” or “boi” when referring to feminized males. It just stands out to me because nowhere else in the story is he thinking about “girls” lol, so I wonder if that’s the best translation possible, or if not, what the original Japanese wording was really implying.

For colaureliano and anyone wondering I went to check the original : The borthel is one of "Otokonoko/crossdressers and shemales" (femboy is a little inacurate but still fits depending on your understanding of the word) and he uses the word for girl on page 6. There is little doubt as to why he says that, shemales are girls and crossdressers want to be interacted with as girls. If we had to word it in a heavy handed way, we could say "I wonder what female presenting person is going to show up". He simply is an inclusive king.

Thank you MedNed for the pointers btw, I think i'll translate it to french after having read the original of the pastiche. That was some super insightful information

Thanks for the constructive feedback everyone. Definitely don't pretend to be 100% fluent in the language. Sorry there was some context that completely slipped past me. Hopefully someone more fluent comes along and third times the charm.

I was wondering about "she's not a girl" in page 9. 男の娘 is translated as femboy in the title (and most of the manga), but as girl on this page, lol

Guessing it's just a mistake, since she is "she" and "miss" in other pages.
