@linck7up I think it's a cultural thing. In the west, the onus would fall on the perpetrator, but in the east, there's more of an emphasis on saving face and not standing out, so the repercussions for the victim would be more severe. I'm guessing the logic is that it's better to suffer more in secret than allow a more minor scandal to become public, and that that's a common enough mindset that this sort of plot isn't questioned.
