One of my favorite furry comics of all time, and I have a hard time staying focused on comics that have an overarching plot (I love a good story, it's something about the medium that just doesn't keep my interest), at last comes to an end. The end of one hell of a week...seriously, I keep having to remind myself that this years-long story only covers one week...before the cycle turns again.

Nah, it was set up that while the father disagrees with the incest he supports the two wholeheartedly. The original commissioner who also originally owned the characters seemed to want the more abusive, drunk father angle but BlackKitten has shown that their idea for the story is a lot more positive for everyone involved. He might solidify his stance about disagreeing with the two of them but it would be a full 180 for him to suddenly get aggressive with the two or to double down on what he said earlier and leave their lives for good.

I think Kevin is going to say something along the lines of how he still doesn't approve of them being in a relationship. However, he can tell that they do genuinely love each other and he loves both of them (in a fatherly way) and doesn't want to lose them. So he'll propose that they can come back home and he'll help them find a place if they agree to not sleeping together under his roof. He might also be saying he wants one or both of them to go to college and he's there to talk about that. Seb working in hardware and Sera working in the post office is going to be a struggle in the best of circumstances and without a degree, it'll be harder for them to advance much. OR he's going to say he's talked to Jayden and she's agreed to move in with Kevin and let Seb & Sera have her home.

Just to recap: Seb is the son, Serah is the daughter, Jayden is the zebra girlfriend(?) of Kevin (When she was introduced, she was portrayed as a prostitute/escort, but since then she's been retconned to a girlfriend who Serah just assumed was a prostitute) Seb & Serah are living together in Jayden's house while Jayden is living with Kevin in his house.

As for the new page, good they are talking. We're getting Kevin's perspective. He sees Seb and Serah's relationship as him failing as a father and that's what he's dwelling on. That he somehow caused this to happen. But I think Serah is going to try to get him to see that this would be like a parent finding out their kid is homosexual or trans and think it is their fault as a parent, somehow. Like "I should have made him try out for sports" or "I shouldn't have let him sign up for ballet lessons" or things like that. OBVIOUSLY NOT THE SAME LEVEL as that, but it's the closest comparison I could think of in the moment. The point is that Kevin needs to see that he didn't "cause" anything or "fail them" and she's going to try to get him to realize that.

I don't know how "real" this comic is planning to go, but the reality for these kids is going to be HARSH. For one thing, incest is illegal, a felony (Age may lessen the penalty, but once you hit 18, that's all she wrote) in all but two states in the United States. So They're going to have to move to a VERY remote area in either Rhode Island or New Jersey and pray whatever kids they might have will be miraculously healthy like the Lanister kids.

Inbreeding isn't necessarily disastrous in a single generation, even for close relations. You should absolutely never, ever do it, for a variety of reasons, but if one generation of sister fucking was that big of a calamity, the Ptolemaic dynasty would have been pumping out Chaos spawn by the time they fell. Mind you, any healthy kids they have would probably be wise to marry a completely different race/species/whatever the hell anthros are just to be absolutely certain that they have no common ancestors for the last like 10,000 years, but it is possible. The bigger problem with them having kids would definitely be the whole host of legal issues.

@SirBlahtson Her dad trying to be sincere now means nothing when he's been a drunkard a significant chunk of their lives. He's saying words he cannot and has never been able to back up. He couldn't even pony up allowance for Seb to take a girl on a picnic date because a rando he drunkenly brought over stole his money and later had to scrounge for it. Most of this story has been how they've had to be self-sufficient and have had to work around their dad and mitigate his bullshit, which then gets proven by them feeling the need to leave entirely and then again by him randomly showing up what seems to be 2+ weeks later and slamming his hands down on the table and yelling over the top of Serah. Saying he's going to keep his distance from them right after that is just the straw that breaks the camel's back given he wasn't close to them to begin with, as we're about to reinforce.

I think she gets to have her shitty quips all things considered.

I'm 95% certain some retconning has happened with that, the random prostitute who stole from him just so happened to be his old pre-wife sweetheart who he has been seeing regularly since his wife's death and they're close enough that she has a key to the house and letting herself in when nobody is home is apparently something completely normal and accepted by the father. And now he and Jayden are living together in his house, I think? It definitely makes the stuff before Jayden's re-introduction somewhat murky. Was he actually seeing random prostitutes? Was it actually only Jayden all along and the kids just assumed it was a different woman each time?

It is a mystery.
