grgspunk mentioned Corpse Party and so I decided to share how my views have changed on the genres of guro and snuff in hentai. Admittedly, I still don't enjoy sex and guro; however, I can see why some people do enjoy it. When I was much younger, I enjoyed movies and stories about vampires and other monsters of horror. However, I never liked depictions of people killing people. As long as, the creatures were based on fantasy monsters, I enjoyed the blood and carnage. I grew up on a farm, so I was witness and participant in the butchering of animals; against my will I might add. More recently, I have read and watched horror manga and anime. I was only slightly bothered by the death and dismemberment of the characters in that media. However, the first time I saw a hentai manga with the themes of death and dismemberment mixed with sex. I was deeply disturbed. I could not accept it and thought it should be stopped. That was unreasonable. How is it any different from mainstream remakes of Hollywood slasher movies; e.g., Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre(I haven't watched either of these). Better yet, how is it different from anime like Another or Parasyte or manga like Corpse Party and Blame. Are people offended simply because sex is involved. I think the answer is yes. We in the west have been raised to believe that sex is both bad and sacred. How fucked up is that opposing dichotomy. It is really fucked up. Sex is absolutely necessary for life to continue, and it can be both beautiful and ugly and everything in between. Logically, there is nothing wrong with portraying sex, guro and snuff in the same story. It is our minds that make it offensive. All three have been a part of human history in everyday life. It is just most of us in the west have lived with a false, artificial peace in the last generation. It isn't part of our daily experience anymore and so shocks us. Causing people to rant in the comments sections, as I once did. Let's give the people who enjoy this genre a break. They're human like the rest of us, I hope I made my point. I am suffering from severe insomnia and am struggling to make sense of what I am saying, so I will stop here and edit at a later date to fix any errors,
