I'm not sure why this gallery/artist caught the ire of the voters. Plenty of more violent/depraved stuff on here. Just two days before this was posted, another gallery (淫虐计划01 with art by Z.DK) featuring similar levels of violent rape and torture was uploaded. The art is good in both galleries, yet that one has 4.89 stars with the exact same number of votes as this gallery.

It's truly interesting to see the disparity, whether it's because of page count, art style, language, or something else.

Anyways, love it, hope there's more to come.

EDIT: @craigj, Thanks, that's quite a good explanation. It makes complete sense to me now that you helped me understand. I definitely agree with all your points. I'm still at the point where I'm less concerned with quality for this kind of niche content, so I'll just 5-star anything that remotely works for me, in the vain hope it will make the artists create more. I'm like a starving animal desperate for any new ryona content. I'll admit the text here is cringey and troubling, but I actually prefer the ridiculous scenarios because it somehow makes me feel less bad about it. I just fap, cry, and move on. But I think it's valid to be more critical of the art one consumes. This kind of stuff is certainly art, but for me I prefer to blind my critical eye and turn on my animal brain and get it over with.

The difference in reaction isn't that hard to explain. It's like how horror movies aren't "good" or "bad" based on the quantity of gore- it's how it's handled. The premise, the writing, the directing, the cinematography, the characterization... subjective as they may be, there are million other factors that decide whether something is "good" for most people. If a work relies too much on shock value and quantity, parts like the writing start to get stupid, even for a torture porn series where you'd think that's the point. It's possible to jump the shark and be received badly, even by its target audience.

So let's compare this to Z.DK's works. Aside from being generally better drawn, Z.DK's art doesn't have dialogue or a spelled-out premise... but the situations are far more believably presented. The opening pages to his ryona cominc paint a more convincing environment (like a sci-fi lab) that characters with actual purposes outside gorn (investigating said lab or conducting horrible experiments in them) interact with each other and have far more believable reactions (being horrified and angry at the experiments). These are actual characters in actual settings. Guro or otherwise, as a work of art, thought was put in and it was executed with respect to the audience's intelligence. It's basically proof you can present any genre with restraint and elegance. Even if ryona's not their thing, people can respect that.

In Non-Stop Fuck Marathon, 10.000, you get exactly the kind of camp the title implies, except it's not very endearing. It's in-your-face and edgy about how utterly nonsensical and one-dimensional the characters are and can't stop rubbing it in. There is nothing besides a girl who's only out to get ryona'd getting ryona'd by a man who never stops talking about how he's going to ryona her in a town with a Dragon Ball tournament built in the middle of it exclusively for ryonafests. Which is all pretty silly, but as a joke, it's missing a punchline. It just kind obsessively goes on about how the slut loves getting the shit kicked out of her and that's all any man in it can think about, which is why audiences feel uncomfortable about the author's views. Not to mention the translation isn't great, so aside from making the characters sound extra derpy, makes it easier to assume the worst about the writer.

Those are just some of the places where the differences in depictions lie. Z.DK humanizes his protagonists and makes them sympathetic- his girls have human emotions and reactions rather than being brainless fucktoys. Even if guro is his fetish, it's presented with self-awareness. At the most basic level, he makes it unquestionably clear the badguys are meant to be evil and repulsive, not badass alpha studs putting some deserving bitch in her place. People can ignore the "offensive" content in his works because it was never out to offend. He's just some guy who happens to have a ryona fetish and presents it well. Kingbang cranks up the volume on edginess and lays it on so thick, it's impossible to ignore. And when the unignorable text is about "women lessons" getting beaten into an idiot's womb, the implications are also harder to brush off. His work was designed to be more provocative and get reactions, so it did. And maybe because of inexperience, what he drew attention to wasn't great.

Now, if "immortal bimbo gets fucked up by a town of serial killers and loves it" is your fetish, that's fine and I'm not here to kink-shame. I'm not even condemning Kingbang- at least not based on this alone; I can't tell his opinions even if I can 100% understand the negative reactions. If anything I'm sure this comic's score will also rise after the initial backlash and only audiences with the specific fetish can find it. But I am pointing out that, regardless of personal biases from inherent fetishes, porn's got layers in its presentation and quality. There are completely different attitudes that can be presented in guro ryona alone, and they will get very different audience reactions. Like all forms of art, I just want it to keep learning how it works and aim higher. The bad in guro, including the "hurr anybody complaining about the slut getting it is a soyboy vanillafag" edgelord attitude deserves criticism. The good in guro should be savored.

@swagalicious Awesome. That's a great attitude since porn is, by its very nature, meant to be consumed with your brain turned off. People can't choose what they're into, so they're hard-wired to fap to it anyway. It's what the medium is designed for, and it has always been a legitimate excuse whenever quality falls short. Like any genre of schlock, calling out its flaws is absolutely valid... but so is enjoying it as a guilty pleasure.

Not sure why this is getting so much vitriol. It's not real, no one's actually getting hurt, the character is even consenting to this. Does it really matter if this exists on the site if no one's actually affected by this? After all, this site also plays host to a litany of fucked-up fetishes. All you have to do is go "This does not appeal to me" and leave if you don't like it.
