Well, I don't see any point where the inventor's intelligence was changed, so it seems like the friend picked up a sweet, shy, completely submissive, *genius* sex slave. If this had a sequel, I'd expect her to continue contributing sexy inventions to please her master.

I consider it to be murder the original person is gone their hopes, dreams, possibly even memories erased. To be honest it could even be worse than murder depending on your religious beliefs. I kill Steve down the street then he goes on to the afterlife that's appropriate, I erase Steve's memories, turn him into a girl and install a Stephanie.exe in its place then when Stephanie dies she's the one who goes to the afterlife. Steve is gone forever, if your not particularly religious and believe death is an end then its as bad as murder but if if you believe in a final judgement you've done something worse because now that original person has been effectively destroyed and wiped from existence.
