Horror fiction exists primarily as an outlet for both author and reader to indulge themselves in extremely unpleasant behaviors without having to suffer the consequences. Every author approaches this in a different fashion, and most of them select specific lines that they are unwilling to cross. Some attempt to use the medium to convey a very specific message by cloaking it in a subtext that goes beyond what is being shown - "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" is frequently cited as a response to a perceived infiltration of Communism or some other social issue into the boundaries of American society, "Friday the 13th" tries to tell the viewer that sex, drinking and drugs are bad (M'kay?), and so forth.

Moving beyond that, you have people who write horror fiction simply because they want to write about awful things happening to people. In the literary world, this is typically sub-classified as "splatterpunk" where one finds the likes of Wrath James White or Jack Ketchum.

Moving beyond that, you find yourself in the realm of people who create stories of such unbridled sadism and violence that it becomes abundantly clear that by the end, the creators are doing nothing more than taking the piss out of you by presenting you with something so completely off the wall that your only possible reaction to it is to gape openly until you get the joke. At which time, of course, you pass it off to the next victim and enjoy their reaction to it. Waita Uziga's work falls squarely into this area of horror, and this story of an obsessive and psychotic school teacher who takes knowledge so seriously that he will destroy anyone who can't learn his lessons is a perfect example.

This is a translation, so it's easy to read, and it's a short story which means that you can be done with it in 10 minutes. Every panel of every subsequent page seems to outdo all that came before it, and it isn't until the last victim falls to Sarubato-sensei's instructional wrath that you'll get the joke: such a thing couldn't possibly exist in any sane society, and not even in a society as insane as Japan. Once you get it, you'll laugh along with the gag and pass it on for some other poor schmuck to read. If they get it, they'll do the same. If they don't, you've probably just lost a friend. That's OK, this is the Internet. You can make more.

wow, I don't think her organs would work in a jar, plus she can't 'cry' w/out tear ducts.

I gues this guy was William Wallace's teacher, eh?

"FREEEDOMMMM!!!"

"Wrong answer!"

Or maybe he's the guy from "The Brick in The Wall"?

"Teacher leave those kids alone!"
