Thing is, that extra effort actually makes this anime stand out for other reasons besides going WAY harder on the fanservice than other shows.

Example: first episode when the stereotypical loser-pervert trio are complaining about being virgins, while all the normal students are being all lovey-dovey couples. They whip out dirty magazines in the classroom, and MC shouts: “THATS WHY YOU DON’T HAVE GIRLFRIENDS YOU RETARDS!!!”

Other shows end the not-joke there with the pervert’s complete lack of self-awareness. But instead, the “Smart” on of the three says it “consoles their loneliness”.....and has completely ruined the mood because now all the girls in class are looking at them in disgust and NOT making out with their boyfriends!

I actually laughed out loud and applauded for that shit, because there was a logical reason to do that! Not just “Lawl, they’re braindead pervs”. I mean, it’s a really DICK move, but it’s a well-thought out dick move.
