I have to disagree. If the Artist would've gone the full spider-woman route, it would've fetishized the whole concept and would've given an different Vibe and Atmosphere, less creepy and dark. So i would argue it's pretty strong twist, because they didn't fetishize / sexualize her to much, but instead focus to give the whole plot an darker tone, and for that an shadow silhouette is pretty fitting and stylistic.
