Bro has singlehandedly done more for the GTS community on here in recent memory than I can recall. A while ago you said you didn’t know Japanese; did you start learning and are these a combination of that and MT to help? Regardless the cleaning and typesetting itself deserves appreciation.

As a fellow GTS archiver of some encrypted game CGs, mad props to you moodyclaus for going out of your way to do this on a consistent basis.

@Mad_Scientist101 Basically yeah, I do still use MTL but more as an assist tool, I quickly learned not to rely on it too much and always check the output. Plus english wise the end result (when it's correct) is often better that what I would come up on my own since I'm not a native English speaker either.

Ah I see, great work, some real professional work here. I can barely tell any of its MTL. I hope your future endeavours are just as seemless.

Just curious what softwares you use, and if any OCR is involved. I’ve been trying to translate some of the older I-raf-you VNs I have but no texthooks or traditional methods have been able to do the job. Best so far has been Sugoi Translator Toolkit v6 with VN OCR translation and I don’t know if there’s anything better.

@Mad_Scientist101 I don't think it would be much help for VN, but I use the following tools:
Google Lens to extract as much text as possible.
Yomichan as a japanese dictionnary
PanelCleaner to speed up the cleaning process for black and white stuff
Recently, I have also tried using the Magic/Object Eraser built into my phone for trickier tasks. It's not perfect, but it's still better than doing it myself since I'm not really interested in learning how to properly redraw..
And for Typesetting I just go with GIMP

MTL wise, I have found that ChatGPT gives the best results, especially since you can feed it context, but even it is not completely reliable.
