I see some comments about the translation and I agree, it's awkward. It narration was almost written without stating who it was that did the action. A normal "I/he did a thing" became "when thing happened". That's not too difficult to translate, but not when the whole narration avoids naming Lawrence in any way.
It'll always be Horo for me.
