This was actually mildly frustrating as the vast majority of the text was hovering outside the characters meaning I had to try and be as exact as I could with the clone brush and the dithering patterns. I might take a break before moving onto the next one in the series as they've all got that floating internal dialogue.

Yeah, I found out that it's easier to copy/paste blocks of screentone (in a new layer obviously) than faffing about with the clone brush. Provided obviously that the author left free a big enough chunk of similarly-shaded background ...

Cheers for the advice. I did that in a few areas, but not many. Unfortunately in a lot of places there's a subtle gradient which makes a huge block of incongruous dithering obvious at a distance. The dithering pattern also isn't pixel-perfect in the scan, so you start with the clone brush on one side of a block, perfectly-aligned, then by the time you're at the other side it's off by like one pixel and stands out like a sore thumb.

In real life, these plain/otaku girls have high standards when it comes to men, just like the attractive girls.

You have to find a really ugly/fat girl or unattractive older woman that has no self-esteem whatsoever to exploit, and those are pretty rare to find from my experience, and when you do find them, you can't pop a boner or bring yourself to touch them in any way because of their repulsiveness.
