Call me odd, but I feel at this tale lacked a bit just to get to the sex.

It's odd but with Madoka around, I feel the need for a really fluffy story to support her presence. Madoka has this way of filling the world around her with this sugar bowl feeling, and it doesn't really help when an author pushed for the usual yuri dynamics.
