Sometimes I wish I had bothered to learn French... then I remember it's a bastardization of Latin and a Germanic language and deserves to be erased from history.

So is english, too. With the added bonus (giggle) that it was latin-bastardized throu' medioeval french mostly :lol:

Edit: at least french retained genres & tenses. English just lost the germanic genres & tenses, without being able to acquire them from latin/french. It is hardly a language, more of a pidgin.
English is to a language what a hut is to a palace, this is more or less what an eminent irish poet once told iirc and I cannot but agree with him.
