I fail to see how Sanbun is a terrible NTR writer, he's pretty much the OG NTR artist. We can argue about this particular story being well written, but saying that he's a terrible NTR writer in general probably means you don't like NTR.

Forgunia: He's been bullied by Hans and can't really do shit against him and he probably decided that it'd be better for his father to stay blissful ignorant to the whole situation given that he seems to have a weak constitution, with the whole getting sick after the mom went missing situation in mind. Confronting the mother himself wouldn't change anything, because she either would tell him to fuck off or leave, which would bring us back to the father getting sick situation. So the best course of action for him is living the lie, then getting the fuck out of there once he's grown up.

Jesus. This is probably the coldest NTR Mom he's made. Sad thing is, there are actual real cases of this type thing happening. Usually it's single mothers. They start dating some dude and pretty much ignore the abuse he inflicts on her child/ren for various reasons. It's not all black and white in these situations, but some come eerily close.
