From what I understand, the dark atmosphere in the last page is about the fact that nothing has been really resolved. She's going to need his "exorcisms", because he's unable to stop her from attracting spirits. All he can do is provide temporary relief. Similarly, he seems to have a problem to which she can provide temporary relief, though I'm not sure of the exact nature of that problem, just that it seems their relationship is symbiotic. That's why she's technically employed at the temple (the title translates to "The Perverted Work of the Spiritually Sensitive JK"). I might be wrong, though, there are too many kanji I don't understand without checking to be sure.
