Quite a few of these pics predate Bowsette, and are of corrupted Peach.

Not to mention I still don't get why people are trying to force this "Bowsette" name when the character was pretty clearly named Koopa-hime/Princess Koopa.

@Penchinon
This meme was first spread via 4chan's /v/ board for 2 days before Japan took hold of it. There were many threads editing the comics and creating fan art there. They came up with the name Bowsette since -ette is a general feminine suffix and sounded better than alternatives like Peacher etc. Since there are some users who go to both 4chan and 2ch threads started appearing on 2ch where they were reposting our art and many of their own started making fan art. Once some bigger artists made art it blew up.

She's called Bowsette because that's the name we created and stuck with for the first 2 days and is what all the art was using. The reason she's called Koopa-hime in Japan is because Bowser is not the name they use for him. He is just Koopa or King Koopa so they made up their own name. It's the same deal with Booette/Queen Boo. Boos have a different name in Japanese, Teresa, so we can't just call her the same thing.
