If he was into men and women, that would be one thing, but he only seemed to have eyes for Sieg, which was... puzzling. So this type of Astolfo makes more sense to me... sort of.

There's a bit of confusion about that among people who don't read Ariosto closely. There are actually two different characters named Astolfo; one is the King of Lombardy, (very loosely) based off of an actual Lombard king, who basically goes around traveling and committing adultery on a mass scale after finding out his wife was cheating on him. The other, the paladin who Astolfo in Apocrypha is supposed to be, basically goes around for the entire epic encountering other characters and helping them while on his way to Senapo/Prester John in order to retrieve Orlando/Roland's wits. I'm fairly sure he doesn't even have a canon romantic interest.

This is clearly NTR. Just hear me out. (TLDR at end)

The translator, not the artist, indicated that this wasn’t NTR. *The artist never explicitly stated this themselves*. Meaning that there is no ironclad reason that this couldn’t potentially be NTR. The artist’s message simply said that they considered developing this story into a threesome with Sieg, *but decided not to* because of time constraints, and that a future work of theirs might explore this idea further (a threesome between Sieg, Astolfo and Jeanne).

From this, the translator assumes Astolfo’s intentions are to divide Sieg and Jeanne, and get together with Sieg himself. This is by no means made apparent in the work itself. There isn’t any solid grounds to make this assumption with the story that we’re given. At best you might be able to say that Astolfo harbored such a desire in the original version of this doujinshi, but remember, due to time constraints *the original version was scrapped*.

You might also want to speculate as to what Astolfo’s motives would be based off the original Fate Grand Order’s depiction of him and his behavior toward Sieg. But that would be a mistake. This is a doujinshi. Characters deviate from their typical behavior on a regular basis in porn.

If you briefly summarize the story in this doujinshi it would be something along the lines of:
Astolfo catches Jeanne masturbating, and figures that he might be able to “help her out”. Jeanne, reluctant at first, is manipulated into having sex with Astolfo under the pretense that it only be thought of as a means to gain sexual experience for when she gets together with Sieg, and nothing more. The moment they start getting busy, Astolfo switches his stance from this being simply Jeanne preparing herself for Sieg, to Jeanne being a perverted woman who only wanted sex. After getting Jeanne all riled up, Astolfo puts the proposition on the table that she forget about Sieg and be his fuck buddy. Jenne pleads that she can’t give Sieg up, and in response, Astolfo withholds sex from her, which breaks her, and she gives herself fully to Astolfo, begging for more by the end.

At this point the only reason I can think that someone might still say that this work isn’t NTR, is that they may not like the idea of having read and possibly enjoyed an NTR themed doujinshi, or that they don't view Astolfo having sex with Jeanne as cheating due to Astolfo's femininity (which I guess is good for him. In the end, he gets a pass because of it, and he didn't even have to keep the situation discreet.) Take into perspective Sieg's desires. Would he really want Jeanne to be turned into a petty sex toy for Astolfo's exclusive use?
