Kruploy: because he has a Patreon for this, which honestly makes no sense to me, as he's ostensibly profiting off of someone else's work (and someone else's copyrighted character) without their permission, which is kind of illegal. Plus, to be fair, no one seemed to be asking for a colorized version of this, and if eno had wanted it to be full color, I think he would have done that himself (for reference, he's done full color works before, like his Takao book).

@Kruploy

See /g/1347514/7400eb519c/ for a bit of context. The coloring is pretty good and frankly I prefer it to the b&w work. I don't see any problem with the colorer asking for donations on Patreon, it is no different from a bunch of translation groups doing the same, but yeah, I can see how watermark can be pissing some people off, and two other problems that I can think is that the uploads here are downscaled (full scale is available for Patreon supportes) and also the uploader made a cardinal sin of uploading unfinished samples (and people tend to hate samples). The rest of the hate I think is random troll-leachers finding a 'hate of the day' because of bizarre logic that 'some people color for free, and this guy asks for donations, lets hate him!'. Sigh. Internet.

Personally I'd hope that the colorer releases full, high res and non-watermarked works to the public, and in turn, people give him a few bucks on Patreon. This would be a win-win. But, again, Internet.

The guy went full retard with those watermarks, this gallery deserves the low ratings it has.

@Red_Piotrus
The "hate" is the usual trashing of low quality shit with watermark, low res and patreon bs on top

You aren't doing anything though. You're just coloring shit in Paint, without even bothering to make sure you do it right. You don't even decensor. Even if you did, it wouldn't justify charging money for it. If there were any way you could actually get into legal trouble for this, I would make sure of it.

The coloring looks okay for a non-patreon version and the watermark, while annoying, isn't obtrusive for the most part ("most part", because it is in the way on page 5 and 15. I don't care for it as long as it's not covering Lartoria's body).

Complaining about perceived low quality or the watermarking is valid. However, bitching that the uploader "can't do this" nor can he ask to be paid for it is unjustified. That pandora's box was opened by translators who made their own patreons and even get crowd funding drives going. I don't agree with those policies but getting bothered someone is doing it long after other people set the trend is hypocritical. Ultimately the market will decide whether or not his work deserves to be paid.

This gallery should be around 2.5-3.5 stars. I'd give it such a rating. But people overreact and then wonder why sites like youtube went from star ratings to "likes", so if I want to steer the rating in its deserved direction, I have to contribute to the current community atmosphere and dish out a five star rating instead. I don't usually pay attention to these things, but I don't remember e-hentai being this polarized in the past.

While i do agree and find it very annoying with the constant watermarks being on every page, it's his work and if that's what he wants to do, then kudos to him. But having to see all these "ILLEGAL" accusations being cranked out and the obliviousness to all of it that some of you are showing is absolutely mind blowing.

You do realize translators/editors who take commissions are doing the very exact same thing that is being presented here. Another example are Overwatch animators such as Cakes/Yeero etc who make top bucks. Where do you think all of them are getting the base contents to work on from?

If you don't like this guys work then that's completely fine but don't pretend to turn a blind eye just because of that and say what he's doing is illegal when there are people out there sailing on ships of money that have been doing these things for ages.

i don't like the flat coloring, and the water mark is huge and in full color, while the manga isn't. ugly watermark, gets 0.5/5 reupload without watermark and i'd give it a 1.5/5

i looked very close at the coloring, it's sloppy and not well done. the color choice is honestly bad. it's just aggravating the more i look at it.

page 6. look at the nipples, i can't belive anybody would pay for something like this. there seems to be no fore thought, it's so ugly. they look like red stickers instead of nipples. it's just honestly a massive disservice to this piece of art.

look at the first panel, my expectations are for them at least to match the color quality of it even if the detail is quite sloppy, at least to have more than flat colors with no blending or gradients. it's a black and white manga you've colored in with paint. the original art is of great quality, having such a low quality coloring on it, only highlights the fact that it was done by somebody with limited levels of skill.

i'd honestly want this redone in better quality, without the stupid fucking watermarks on everything, that is 2 as big as it should be. and also in a very annoying place, and sticks out too much, make an actual watermark that is flat and not shoved in my face like a dick.

if you wanted this gallery to get more than .5 stars you should have put more effort into it or at least made your big fucking watermark smaller.

Thank you guys so much for your feedback and constructive criticisms I welcome them wholeheartedly. I learned a great deal about what to do and what not. First of all I would like to say I am very new to this field (still inexperienced) so please forgive me for my mistakes since I am still learning and hopefully I will improve as the time goes by.

I tried something new but it failed so there is no denying it and for that again I offer my humble apology.

The major problems I see here are about "flat coloring" and "watermarks" so please rest assure guys in my future releases I will definitely try to improve the coloring standard. Also I will place the watermarks in such a way that it will not at all ruin your enjoyment or experience that's a promise.

SInce I have had similar experiences with Internet hate whenever I ask for money for decensoring I'll chime in with my thoughts.

1. This is not a violation of copyright laws any more than doujins as a whole are violating copyright laws. Eno does not own Fate/Grand Order series so if we want to talk about copyright violations why are people only pointing to people like myself and xcaliber9999 but never to doujinshi artists themselves? I never understood this rationale.

2. You are not entitled to free stuff. If someone puts a lot of work into a project and they ask for money then you can decide if the work done is valuable enough to you to pay the asking price. If you don't like it then you simply decline to pay. You don't go into a store and then start complaining to the staff about how everything should be free because you say so.

3. If you want more people to translate, decensor, colorize, scan, etc then you should support the people that do it. They need to put food on the table as well. This is why turnover is so high in the community. We get told to "get real jobs." While some of us are lucky, like myself, so that I can largely pay the thousands of dollars I put into buying, scanning, time spent, photoshop subscription, scanning equipment, computer upgrades, drawing tablets, etc every year, not everybody can afford to do so. I think I'm clearly the biggest name in terms of decensoring doujinshi and I get a few thousand dollars worth in commissions per year. No where near enough to live off of. I don't even break even in terms of cost, but I'm not in it for the money as much as I just want to see things decensored/uncensored. No one here is "wealthy" for the work/edits we do. We do a lot of work and then get shit on if we ask for help. That's not a community mindset that's an entitled free loader mindset. Just be self-aware enough to avoid sounding selfishly entitled if that's not the image you want to display. And stop pretending that you care about the doujinshi artists when you regularly visit a site to mooch off their work and likely never support the artists by buying and supporting their work.

4. While I understand putting perks and incentives for patrons, the watermarks here are some of the largest I've ever seen. I can understand people complaining about that. I think watermarks can help to make people aware of who did it but this is less of letting people know and more about let's annoy people so they become patrons. I'm not a fan of watermarking personally because part of my goal is to make things look as good as possible in order to present the artist's work in the best light possible, but that's just my opinion.

5. The coloring itself could be better, but I realize that would be A LOT of work. Personally, I find it easier to colorize doujinshi that are simply all grayscale and use no screentones (the little dots to provide contrast/darken an area). A true coloring would take the dots into consideration and substitute it with a darker shade of the color of interest and erase the dots entirely. Again though I realize that is a lot of work to do so it's your call how much time, effort you want to put in.

Lastly, xcaliber9999, do what you love doing. Ignore the whiners, and I would say don't expect to make a living off of any editing work you do here. At best you may get a supplement income which can be used to help buy doujinshi or for whatever. The rating this gallery has received is not proportional to the quality of the content. It's heavily skewed down because people here are triggered by the thought of someone getting money for work by lying to themselves saying that you're "profiting off of the artist". I know how much time these types of edits take. Some projects can take hundreds of hours and people are quick to complain because they don't know how much goes into it.
