@senkoau If it were established that the possessed person were aware of what was happening, but unable to act or communicate with the possessor at all, I wouldn't like that either.

But since folks with additional personalities are asleep (in a manner of speaking) when they're not the one in control, I assume that's the case with stories like these unless it establishes otherwise.
