I tried translating a manga by Gosaiji.

About the title: in Japanese, the title is the characters for "first" and "face/expression", 初 and 顔, obviously referencing the never-before-seen facial expression which is central to the story. In addition, however, in some instances, it can be seen as an abbreviation of 初顔合わせ, meaning a "first meeting", or as an alternate spelling of 新顔, meaning a "newcomer / new participant" (literally, a "new face").
As such, I went with "unfamiliar face" for the English title to include both the literal meaning of the characters (an "unfamiliar facial expression"), and the (possible) connection to the words referring to meetings with strangers -- "unfamiliar faces", if you will.

I swear I must have spent more time thinking about this title than I spent on working on the manga itself.
