This is my third collaboration with Hong_Mei_Ling. his work as a translator is outstanding, I highly recommend him for commissioned work. As well as providing accurate translations, he takes the time to explain cultural references that go above and beyond a literal translation. I of course always use my best judgement as I feel my goal as a translator/editor is to write in English for an English speaking audience. For example, the original title is "ウォシュレットテラー" ("Washlet Teller"), it was explained to me that it's a take on the term "Fortune Teller", none of which made much sense so I just went with "Toilet Spirit".

I have two more stories from John K Peta I intend to post with Hong's help, I will get to them soon as I can!

In the meantime, both Hong_Mei_Ling and MisterJ167 will take commissions for their work: Hong_Mei_Ling for translation, MisterJ167 for text and SFX cleanup and typesetting. MisterJ167 will also help in making the English text sound more "fluid".

@hong_mei_ling Not quite correct. テロ is used in the context of "terrorism", such as the Aum Shinrikyo subway attack, not as in "theatrical terror" i.e. ghost stories and such. Meanwhile, テラー refers to a bank teller, not a fortune teller; Japanese folks are very familiar with fortune-telling and astrology, and would more likely have used 占い instead if that was the meaning he intended to use.

JKP is also fairly well-versed in Western culture and speaks some English, so it's more likely he's using the spelling テラー as an alternate way of rendering "terror" in 和製英語.
