this was featured in a book full of short stories like this; it's about the female characters in yaoi mangas and how they don't get enough credit and are often just used as plot devices while never getting their own happy end. also, it shows how readers often hate the female characters in yaoi mangas without really having considered their part of the story. I thought it was pretty interesting. of course you're right about Harada drawing primarily yaoi, but isn't that to be expected? it's their choice what to draw anyway.

Reminds me of a story, married guy divorces his wife to be with his boyfriend, everyone supports him and ostracised his ex-wife. Turns out he'd been cheating on her with the boyfriend the entire time they'd been married.

I agree that in a lot of yuri and yaoi works the opposite gender is treated harshly, it's an element that ruins it for me.

@Cocoasweet Well, the whole goal of this story was to garner sympathy for otherwise overlooked and trivialized female characters in yaoi manga. So the fact that you feel bad for her/pity her means it accomplished that goal. It falls in line with netorare in that respect.

I honestly wish there was more content like this, both yaoi and yuri, which show the distress of the opposite sex and their emotional turmoil.
