just downloaded one of the images, when you zoom in this person decided it was a good idea to add artificial noise to the whole thing, then save it as a png.
this makes the image look like it was scanned, which can make the image look better overall, but saving it as a png severely bloats the image.
running it through a waifux2 denoiselevel 3 pass and that alone, it got the file size down to 20mb which given the resolution, is reasonable, but a noiseless base image would likely take up even less space, as while waifux2 can do magic for images, its not god.
