@BillNine10, she needs to lie if she wants keep using him for her emotional needs while the other guy gets to satisfy her physical needs. You can see her relationship is just physical when she basically questions herself whether she has even feelings for the tall guy. Heck, it's even made clear the tall guy spends less time on her. The childhood friend is basically her beta bux so to speak while the other guy is her alpha fux. If the childhood friend is smart, he moves on. However, let's most of these MCs are dumb as a rock, and he'll probably be willing to become her wimpy safety net when she finally decides to settle for real.
