I'm glad their children got to live a normal life and the witch didn't mistreat their oldest daughter. The Demon Queen obviously started having feelings for the Hero because she had multiple children by him and as said before he couldn't force her to get pregnant. If she left the boundary her children and other demons would become subject to hatred and genocide again so in the end she chose to stay with her jailer/husband/soul mate forever. Both this and the Elf Queen story were great. I will say this one was better because we never got to see how the Elf Queen felt about her husbands death from her perspective.

I have tried to reword this comment but it's gonna sound pretentious so here we go:
this ending (and story) reminds me of "No Exit". The hero grew to crave the demon king and she realized that she needed him to exist so she could find mental peace (presumably either through revenge or actually talking their deep-seated psychological issues out). Reminded of the ending of No Exit where Garcin realizes that he needs Ines' approval, something he knows he will never get.
In a way, this is a happy ending, as the demon king is trapped in her own metaphorical hell as punishment for being the demon king, while the world actually becomes a better place due to her children being good people.

They kinda forgot their plot i think. The overlord's girl said her mother got herself into that position because of her ambition, But it was shown in an earlier chapter that it was the previous overlord that started the war and while the current one would want to stop it, she can't as things are too far gone.
