The last page is so great, but the gap to it is depressingly huge. Barely anything interesting happens in the first 40 pages and then boom, the last page is full with action.

Eeeh. The horror movie plot is nice, and I'm down for elves getting twisted and destroyed, I really am, but not ALL of them. Pseudo-genocide is sort of a turn off.
