Arguably non-canon as you say, but @VegaObscura is correct, as am I (been following this story for a while).

IIRC, in the illustrated doujin, the hunks go to jail and that's it (though the beach video is circulating and Kyouka and her daughters are pregnant, but plan to do something about it), in the novel (which came before the doujin) they do become sluts to the hunks and keep seeing them.

What [Yen] did is a continuation of the "novel route", a what-if scenario.

Also, I doubt the facemask has anything to do with the ongoing COVID pandemic. This is not the first time a woman masks herself like that to stay anonymous, plenty of doujins that predate the Wuhan outbreak have it (most memorable is "Wakatsuki, Take Off Your Mask!", which can be found here on ex).

@pihip been following since the start and it's just not true for the simple fact nothing was shown to us readers.
On the other hand everything was left hanging and hinted that a big amount of stuff kept going on behind scenes.
It's a very basic of basics setup for sequel, something that Jin still hasn't delivered. IF he ever feels in the mood for it.

sshions, it isn't left hanging -- it is said that the men have been arrested. The women are potentially pregnant and plans are being made to "take care of it." All of that is in the doujin, unquestionably.

For you to say "nothing was shown to us readers" and then imply that your desired outcome was "hinted" at... silly.
