First time translating so feedback would be appreciated. IDK how to deal with text outside of bubbles so I just put the english over it with a white outer-glow. On FANBOX Allegro said they might do a sequel in the future so I'm really looking forward to that.

@Erozone That doesn't make much sense. People are going to pirate the doujin regardless of how you place text. All he is really doing is disincentivising translators. That's evident, considering how many of his works aren't getting translated, truly a shame, the artwork is godlike and I'll take any translation over none. Hope you translate more @pactagon

Also, if you are just going to put text on top, try to remove original characters where possible; like on page 14, a LOT of text could have been painted black first.

Your white highlight solution usually works okay. There are a few instances where pieces of the characters they overlap protrude and makes it look like odd punctuation, like commas or apostrophes that aren't really there.

@Monochromer thanks, I'll do that next time I come across a similar block of text. On page 3 you can see where I erased a bit of text but gave up since the outline already covered the art behind it anyways. I really didn't feel like erasing each character one by one, especially since this was done on a whim. I can definitely remove text when there's just black or white behind it though.

@Damoriel I guess the solution would be to increase the size of the highlight so it sorta makes a unified background between letters.

For text on uniform (or mostly uniform) background, you can use the Spot Healing Brush and Clone Stamp tools. That's really straightforward and should cover most of the things.

For text on detailed backgrounds (i.e on people or objects), you'd have to remove the text first, then redraw. However, Clone & Healing can help if you only want to partially redraw the sections that are gonna be visible after you've inserted the new stroked text.

It's a bigger pain in the ass than cleaning bubbles, that's for sure, but it becomes a lot easier after practice.
