Wonder if there is a part 3, if Kaori's parents and/or the coach find out and do something about what's going on because a national-level tennis player out-of-the-blue starting to play like shit and then unexpectedly quitting isn't something that people would just ignore(especially with it being established that Kaori's parents are super-strict about her being out late).

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding this, the Sasaki (kouhai) didn't go out of her wait to mind break Kaori out of jealousy or because "she wanted to be part of the tennis club".

It's in part 1 and even on pages 52-53, the kouhai clearly says it, she wants to sink Kaori to a level below herself!

I find this interesting, since never in the story (even on part 1) did Kaori said or did anything that seem hostile towards the Kouhai, yet the Kouhai is after her, the only reason I can think of is either Kaori called her trash or useless or something along those lines (maybe we'll see a flash back on part 3) and now the kouhai is out to prove that Kaori can be lower than her.

Also, the kouhai has no interest in the club, she quit the club because she wasn't good at it, getting rid of Kaori will not make her any better.

Whatever the case might be, it has little to do with jealousy or the tennis club, the Kouhai clearly wants somebody who can be lower than her, and Kaori fits the bill: the serious girl who is the tennis club ace, if the ace can become lower than a human, then the Kouhai will always have someone who will be inferior to herself forever.

That's why she traded positions with her at the end, the Kouhai will now be elite student, while the elite student will be human trash; it's a way to symbolize their new position of who is better than the other.
