I've never translated or typeset anything in my life but after reading the comments I went into this expecting some awful commie fansubs tier shit and was surprised to see some pretty competent work. Skipping onomatopoeia translation might look messy in dialogue/SFX-heavy doujins but that's not the case here. I didn't even notice them. I will say that the "coooome" bit was reminiscent of the current flavor of the month meme and, if that was intentional, adding that kind of thing only makes the translation age horribly.

Sure, it's important to have standards even in things like these, but when the criticism boils down to graphics whoring, it's hard to take it seriously. It's a resample to 1280x1800, not heavily pixelated upscaled jpg's of phone camera pictures.

I'm all for elitism but unwarranted venom accomplishes nothing.

Hey man, don't feel so discouraged as to outright quit. You're not the first person who does hentai translations as practice before having any type of certification. Many people far from being at native level do this sort of thing and the output is usually good. Your work is getting some fine star ratings and I'm pretty sure it's not just because the art is amazing or because Yukiho is prime waifu material. There's a number of people who are not so particular about the details (legitimate or not) that others are complaining about.

As for the extended "come", if that wasn't your intention then it will blend into the translation as the meme dies. It's less a problem with your translation and more a projection of my despise for people who have gained notoriety as "good" translators thanks to the e-clout that comes with sprinkling their work with whatever memes are popular at the time of the translation.

This has nothing to do with elitism, especially when you promise to not fuck it up the next time like this guy did.
People go and buy these books, scan them and often(like in this case) even clean the scans! To not take the full advantage of their work is just plan stupid.

It's only at full resolution if you source your raws from that other site that starts with an N... They notoriously rip their galleries from here and repost them at low resolution, like what all aggregators do. The ACTUAL original gallery is at /g/1489168/826da8a81a/ like @klermun said.

I didn't even realize it looked like that. I 100% just meant for it to be an extended "come." Now that I think about it though, I'm not sure what I would use instead to prevent it from being mistaken for that.

Anyway I'll hold off on doing this sort of thing again until I take and hopefully pass N2 later this year (would take it this summer but corona won't let it happen). Seems to be many complaints about the translations themselves, which is warranted because I'm not at native level yet, but I really don't feel like hearing the criticism.

Unless someone redraws for me I'm not going to translate onomatopoeia. I'll translate moaning bubbles but I'll have to find a font that makes the text look all messy like in the raws.
