I think that what makes the first one stand out is the combination of:
* Looking serious
* Not wearing obvious lipstick or makeup
* Being an action shot
* The costume looks like serious business

Admittedly, that last one is a bit sketchy with the bare midriff, but the one in #3 through #11, which doesn't have that problem, has other issues:
* Obvious Lipstick
* Fancy hairdo
