Not every idea can be a hit out of the park.
Personally, I really liked the Alma/Granberia story (dat ending >.>). The alternate high school setting one felt like a pile of missed opportunities.

Setouchi has made some good MGs. I do like Promestein, as well as Nanabi, Sphinx, and the Kraken. I do like Tamamo more (made by Jingai Modoki), and a lot of the works by frfr (maker of ones like the Queen Harpy, Queen Mermaid, Nekomata, Cupid, and everybody's favorite straight shota himself, Luka). Frfr would do wonders if he did MGQ doujins.
On a side note, does anybody wonder why Monster Girl Games constant have a shota as the protagonist? This game, the Violated Hero games, a good chunk of RPG Maker games. What about young boys makes a monster girl go weak in the knees? One of the great mysteries of the universe...

It's the size/strength difference. You take a monster girl like the Harpies or your average Lamia, and I can easily see her holding Luka down while taking advantage of him. You have the same scene but with a bodybuilder or something, and it becomes a little harder to believe. At least from a meta "this is why the artist did this" perspective. From an in-universe perspective, they might just be easier to subdue for a similar reason.
