Its a pretty "well known" pairing, (something about splashart) same with Nidalee and Rengar, I dont like it either, but each their own.
Great art though, would be nice to see more from the artist.

This is one of the most fan-cannon pairings in the whole game. Supposedly it all started because Riven's bunny skin was revealed with a small Zac blob in it before Zac was announced, but the pairing works for so many because Riven is an introspective outcast who feels she doesn't belong anywhere while Zac is an outgoing freak who couldn't care less about what others think of him, only caring about having a good time, so their personalities compliment each other remarkably well.

Not to mention they have good synergy (a good Zac can lock people for Riven to wreck, or knock them her way, and Zac can do heavy amounts of area AP damage while Riven is an area AD queen) and both have a theme of knocking other people into the air.
