the other one focus on akagi trying to cheer admiral after kaga sunk.

this doujin focused on kaga ghost* (and some part of her) "returned" to naval base.
it happen after akagi cheer admiral (see the photo in the admiral's desk at page 4). at page 4, admiral call akagi because he think she still in his office. and then at the last page, that is kaga flight deck and the long haired girl is akagi. plus, kaga returned the marriage ring to admiral so admiral can marry akagi (i think?)
so i'm sure akagi not dead in this doujin.

(but seriusly, if this admiral lose kaga AND akagi, then he is a shitty admiral)

yes I did know that. shipgirl that sunk will be turned into enemy ship. and in this case, kaga turned into aircraft carrier demon. it just hard for me to explain it. thanks for the explanation.

it make me happy that she remember her old memories as a shipgirl. but it make me sad that one day admiral must fight against her beloved kaga. and he must lose kaga Twice.....
or MAYBE.....kaga can return to admiral after he beat the aircraft carrier demon, which is a bloody good news.

After all, the publishing date was about the time of the Bon Festival in Japan, which according to the folklore the spirit of the dead would pay a visit to their living loved ones during that time.

If the Abyssal Fleet were of those Fleet Girls whose spirits lingers in the Realm of the Living, then Kaga's return the ring to her husband/admiral would be what release her to "go to the other side"...who knows?

@ES5: I don't think that's Kaga's ghost. If you look closely at the beginning pages you'll see that Kaga has long white hair, and she's wearing what looks like a black sailor uniform. Right before the Admiral walks into the room, you can see Kaga's hair changing from white to black, the transformation completing just as he walks in. Also note that she's drenched, as if she just came out of the ocean.

I think the grim truth, far darker than that being Kaga's ghost, is that after she sunk she turned into an aircraft carrier demon. Somehow she returned and transformed herself back for a last night with her admiral before leaving again.
