I prefer watching Buddha Saitan by the Happy Science sect (in case you don't know, Aum Shinrikyo is a terrorist sect). Less boring.

Aum also had financial assets around 1 billion USD, had chemical engineers and chemiists who were affiliated, and created a three-story facility to produce sarin in gallon batches and VX in smaller quantities, which is not easy to make. They had what is practically a chemical weapons development division as well as a lesser known biological weapons division specializing in anthrax and botulinum toxin. Of the guys that carried out the attack on the subway, 1 was a doctor, 2 were physicists, and 1 was a computer scientist.

- You had to donate all your money and belongings in order to become a full member.
- They ran businesses (restaurants, computer shops, cafes etc) staffed by members who worked for free as part of their "training."
- Shoko Asahara sings most of Aum's songs, he was the singer of a rock band when at blind school.
- They used drugs like LSD to make new members believe they were having a spiritual experience.
- They built a "submarine" out of oil drums, it sank.
- They were planning on raiding the government buildings with commandos trained by former SDF members and weapons smuggled from Russia.
- They tested their sarin on a farm in Australia on sheep.
- They ran for the elections for the Japanese Diet in February 1990 and all candidates lost.
- They had a relationship with famous religious leaders, such as the Dalai Lama and Kalu Rinpoche. They used to donate lots of money to them to gain their friendship.
- They are still around, just with a different name (Aleph).
- Shoko Asahara had lots of girlfriends (female disciples) even though he was married.
